props to Brute Norse.

Here's the thing about  Brute Norse : It's my favourite podcast. Creator/host/p hilologist  Eirik Storesund is the punk rock academician you never knew you needed. Irascible, hypercritical, and occasionally crass, all blendered into the unapologetically erudite. That mixing of dwarf-burnt motor oil into Nordic spring water makes you wonder how that even works. BN 's not the same 101/105 intro course level re-tread over so much that it's churned into the shallowest of indistinguishable muddy ground material that everyone else does. There's almost always a Gods/Runes/Sources/Hot Takes Review series of things when a vid/podcaster starts out with different levels of success, style, or research. And if you've been consuming the ever widening gyre of cybervikingsphere offerings, it becomes increasingly harder to find something different with serious depth or with just 5% of something you haven't already heard elsewhere. NorsePlay on The Raven's Call!

Image
We took a moment to send Eric "Word-Weaver" Sjerven of The Raven's Call YouTube Channel an appreciative postcard for his exemplary videocasting on Heathenry, which he in turn took a moment of his episode to show and and thank us for ! We picked up this postcard during our travels in Iceland and have been saving it for someone who'd truly appreciate it, and we felt Eric was that guy of worth. And for those of you unfamiliar with The Raven's Call , it's the clear inheritor to the Heathen podcasting mantle established by Raven Radio, Ravencast, and Heathen Talk, so give it a go and let us know what you think. #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. inappropriate Cards Against Heathenry.

Probably the most gaspingly wrong response card from Cards Against Heathenry , this subject specific variant NorsePlay game contains Norse Lore at its most ingloriously lewd, Asatru books both malapropismed & questionably sourced, name dropping of renowned Heathen public figures from all organizations, and references to well-loved Heathen podcasts past & present. [Available here as PDF-printable, or finished card set .] [Apologies to Freya for using this too-effective example, and thanks to Vincent Enlund & Heathen Talk for bringing this to our attention.] #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven.
