of course Disney's doing a Loki series.

Image
With the prevalence of fandom for Tom Hiddleston's portrayal of the God of Mischief (just search "Loki's Army" for the depth of it), Disney will be producing a dedicated series for their Disney+ channel. Most Disney TV shows are too over-the-top and the acting style is nearly always "on" in a bad way ( Descendents for a somewhat villain-centric example). Also the two Asgardian-related episodes of Agents of Shield really could've been better. Word is that the show will follow Loki through the Endgame timeline, but we feel it would be more of a hit to do the Kid Loki storyline from Journey Into Mystery . Maybe for second season, if this slated for 2021 show gets proper treatment. Marvel's Thor 4 announced.

Image
While the Taika Waititi Ragnarok installment was our least favourite for its divergence in overt comic tonality from the franchise 's tenor, it appears Marvel has retained Waititi for the next one and just announced that someone new will be cast as Thor in this fourth film: [Natalie Portman as Jane Foster as Thor.] The concept of Lady Thor successfully hit the comics in 2014, and with MCU's Thor gone a'viking with the Guardians of the Galaxy crew, it seems Natalie Portman's going to heft the hammer . We just hope Kat Dennings will come along as her divine intern and that the director will funnel the humour just to Darcy Lewis where it belongs. #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. Thor's three draughts.

Image
Thor: Ragnarok taps Norse Lore for its bottomless beer mug scene: Whether Dr Strange knows it or not, Thor originally encounters a bottomless horn at a frost giant's court that magically refilled from the ocean ... but Thor doesn't know this and it's used to embarrass him in front of all the jötnar when he can't finish drinking it. Thor also unknowingly starts the endless ocean tides we still travel on today from the three godlike draughts he downed. "Another"? Maybe Strange should've insisted on the wee 4 oz Tibetan yak butter tea? #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. Thor brings the rains ... and the hot buttered grains.

Image
Thor was also considered the farmer's god because his storms summoned the needed rains that watered the fields of grain. In this very modern case, $15 at Thor: Ragnarok brings a promotional keepsake bucket of movie popcorn with a lid styled after his Contest of Champions winged helmet! Gungnir takes pause at Marvel's Hela.

Image
Death Goddess Hela cross-vambrace blocks the spear that's supposed to always hit its mark, Gungnir, from the new blockbuster Thor: Ragnarok ! We saw it last night and loved it. Cate Blanchett finally gets to be the bad arse we all know she can be, Hemsworth wins some laughs, and Asgard will ne'er e'er be the same. #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. promo pop-art poster the Contest of Champions.

Labeled "psychedelic" by Grupo Erik, we like the pop-art stylings of this wall poster for the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok . And since the Hulk's really a menace, we only see one champion in this arena coming out on top: Thor! #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven. Hela as a Disney villainess.

Norse Goddess of the Underworld Hela does a forward-facing homage to Disney's fairy tale villainesses as part of LA's Hero Complex Gallery's Thor: Ragnarok Art Showcase, running through November 5th. Wonder Woman borrows Mjölnir.

Image
Wonder Woman takes a swing with what looks like Mjölnir on one of last year's USPS postage stamp issues! We could totally see Thor making a resort stop on balmy Paradise Island and loaning The Crusher to help a noble & divine girlfriend out. It's a timely choice given Marvel Studios film successes and the upcoming Wonder Woman movie this summer. #    #    # Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in  the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires'  Norse Gods and Giants  at age seven.
