beware those who bite their shields.
Sure they're the most celebrated chessmen in the world and thus an obvious choice for NorsePlay, but we can't help but adore & include them: The Lewis Chessmen feature four Rooks who are depicted as Berserkers! Note the battle-mad biting of shields. We got a nice museum gift shoppe replica of the Berserker at left a few years ago on our visit to London.

Guillermo Maytorena IV knew there was something special in the Norse Lore when he picked up a copy of the d'Aulaires' Norse Gods and Giants at age seven. Since then he's been fascinated by the truthful potency of Norse Mythology, passionately read & studied, embraced Ásatrú, launched the Map of Midgard project, and spearheaded the neologism/brand NorsePlay.
